This course is designed to develop students understanding of geometric concepts such as proof, shapes, perimeter, area, transformations, circles, solids, and angle and triangle relationships. 
 

Course Topics:  

In the first quarter, we will study the first 6 chapters, followed by the remaining 6 chapters in the second quarter.

Chapter 1: Essentials of Geometry

Chapter 2: Reasoning and Proof

Chapter 3: Parallel and Perpendicular Lines

Chapter 4: Congruent Triangles

Chapter 5: Relationships Within Triangles

Chapter 6: Similarity (as well as simplifying radical expressions)

Chapter 8: Quadrilaterals

Chapter 9: Transformations (Translations, Rotations, Reflections, Dilations)

Chapter 10: Properties of Circles

Chapter 11: Measuring Length and Area

Chapter 12: Surface Area and Volume of Solids

 
 
Vocabulary:
Working with vocabulary words is another way to develop deeper meaning and connections of concepts in our geometry class.  Vocabulary links are sent via Remind and are also linked below.  Vocabulary is due by Friday night at midnight of the week listed, however it can be completed any time that week, and can be submitted late for a 10% penalty.
